About.Filtration Specialties turns the fiberglass yarns used to make woven fiberglass fabrics into fiberglass felt filtration fabrics that remove solids from hot gas streams at temperatures up to 700F.
Our wet finishing process also lends itself to coating or impregnating synthetic fiber fabrics with solvent or water-based treatments. |
Established in 2002Filtration Specialties' roots go back to 1879 with F.C. Huyck and Sons making woolen papermaking felt in Rensselaer, NY. In the mid-1970's Huyck Felt Company used their felt-making knowledge to create a fiberglass felt treated with silicone that could be used in high temperature industrial filter bags. Since then the product range has expanded to include several different resin systems.
Filtration Specialties was formed in 2002 in a management buyout of the business unit that evolved from the Huyck Felt industrial filtration division offering filtration fabrics for industrial filter bags, cartridges and pleated filter elements. Our manufacturing relocated from the original site in Taunton, MA to a larger facility in South Hill, VA in 2007. |
Our GoalOur goal is to provide functional and cost-effective solutions to industrial filtration challenges.
